Covid survivor Carlos Kareem Windham is a multi-hyphenate word-smith, provocateur, and cultural iconoclast. Along with Mx. Dahlia Belle, they co-hosted and curate Portland’s monthly comedy showcases Aftermath : Comedy and Music for the Apocalypse at Havalina, PDX, F*cks of Life – Comedy, Mic & Brunch at Capitol Bar, PDX, and The Rapture at The Siren Theatre. Carlos also serves as emcee and co-lyricist with Erin Wallace and with Portland-based band Wallace. Jean Grae and Wanda Sykes think they are pretty funny. NPR’s Jesse Thorn says Carlos pronounces their name like a character from the 1980’s television program Taxi. Michael Rappaport thinks Carlos is an asshole, and international rap superstar, Talib Kweli, called them a “goofy fuck” who should mind their own goddamn business.
