Comedy Bio Hailing from San Francisco’s Haight-Ashbury neighborhood when it was the center of the world, Starla Heinz is a comedian who performs stand-up and improv across the country. Although based in LA for over 35 years, her proud roots shine through in her comedy — roots which include having been homeless, a single parent, army vet, flight attendant, wife, probation officer, and now mom of a med student. She’s also studied at the legendary Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles, but she’ll tell you her humor was especially honed during her two years living in a homeless shelter long before then. These years of sharpening her craft have led to appearances alongside Jamie Foxx, Anthony Anderson as the imposter on To Tell The Truth, and on Netflix’s Squid Game. As a result, Heinz has the ability to translate everyday’s craziness into laughs that make you reconsider if a “normal” life is even a real thing. Her comedy will both take you on her rollercoaster and make you realize that your own rollercoaster is totally cool too — and probably pretty funny, if you do a little digging.
