Laugh After Dark’s Debut Comedy Album Hits #4 On iTunes In The First Week
Laugh After Dark made history this week with the release of their first-ever comedy album, Kalea McNeill’s, Sma’am debuting at #4 on the iTunes comedy charts.
Los Angeles, CA: Laugh After Dark, the award-winning stand-up comedy TV show on Amazon Prime and Tubi is turning heads and topping charts once again with the release of their brand new comedy album featuring standup rising star, Kalea McNeill in her debut album, Sma’am.
The Sma’am release is coming hot off the heels of Laugh After Dark’s Summer of Specials Filming Tour where they filmed Kalea and several other up-and-coming comedians at boutique comedy clubs across the country including Trixx, Jozalyn Sharp, Patrick Melton, Alycia Cooper, Vik Pandya, and Stoner Rob. Each of these projects consists of an album as well as a special and is all slated to release in 2023. Laugh After Dark recently signed onto a brand new distribution deal that covers several major platforms including Amazon, Tubi, Roku, Sirius XM Radio, and several more. Needless to say, audiences can expect a lot more all-new comedy from Laugh After Dark in the coming year.
Laugh After Dark has two LA-based seasons currently available to watch on Amazon and Tubi with the much-anticipated brand-new season, Laugh After Dark LIVE in Las Vegas premiering soon. Since first rolling cameras on the TV show in 2018, Laugh After Dark has been headed by Executive Production duo, Robert E Lee and Kelsey Borlan who own, operate, and produce everything under Laugh After Dark brand. “This is a really huge moment for us.” says Kelsey Borlan, Director of Laugh After Dark, “As a 100% independent production, we’ve always known we are the underdogs but we’ve also never lost sight of our vision or belief in the comedians we work with. Kalea’s was the first comedy special we’ve ever produced, so having it debut at the top of the charts is exciting and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
McNeill is a 10-year comedy veteran and actor originally from the bay area who is currently on a west-coast comedy tour. Kalea gained a love for performance at an early age before attending Clark Atlanta University. As a comedian, Kalea has performed on legendary stages such as The Comedy Union, Flappers, The Comedy Store, and most recently at the Netflix Is A Joke Festival. She can also be seen on season 2 episode 12 of Laugh After Dark. As an actor, she has been on TNT’s Animal Kingdom, CW’s Crazy Ex Girlfriend, and various guest/costar spots on FX, CBS, TruTV, and TNT.
